Aplicabilidade do Método Pilates no tratamento de lombalgia crônica.

Abstract
O método Pilates é composto por exercícios físicos que tem como objetivo o fortalecimento de músculos responsáveis pela estabilização da coluna vertebral, nomeado por seu criador de Power house. Dessa forma, pode ser considerado um meio de tratamento para a lombalgia crônica, visto que essa patologia é caracterizada por disfunções musculoesqueléticas na coluna lombar que podem ser causadas por sedentarismo, postura inadequada, esforço excessivo e repetitivo, dentre outros aspectos. Esse estudo irá contribuir para o conhecimento de docentes de educação física e áreas de interesse. O objetivo desse estudo é conhecer os benefícios do método Pilates no tratamento da lombalgia crônica. Definido por natureza qualitativa, o trabalho é uma revisão sistemática que abrangerá as bases de dados: Scielo e Pubmed, com o recorte temporal que compreende os anos de 2008 a 2019, nos idiomas inglês e português. Na coleta final, encontramos na base de dados Scielo 18 resultados, e aplicando os critérios de exclusão, restaram apenas 5 artigos para análise. Na base de dados PubMed, foi localizado 84 artigos, restando 24 para análise final. O método Pilates apresentou efetividade nos estudos analisados, manifestando melhora da dor, força, equilíbrio e incapacidade funcional dos indivíduos que realizaram as sessões. Concluímos dessa forma que a maior parte dos estudos publicados comparam o método Pilates com outros tipos de intervenção para o tratamento de dor lombar, dificultando a análise restrita aos benefícios apenas deste método. Sugere-se, portanto, estudos futuros que abordem somente o método Pilates como forma de intervenção, sem comparação a outros métodos.
